Brick Wheelbarrows

A wheelbarrow found in the the Raritan River in 2006.

Wheelbarrow being loaded into a tank, 2006.

Workers transported finished brick from kilns to storage sheds by specially constructed wheelbarrows. This brick wheelbarrow was discovered during construction of the Neptune Project during diving operations in the Raritan River just north of the site of the S & F brickworks. It was placed into temporary storage and submerged in water to prevent deterioration.
